Singapore Management University (SMU) is a city campus, situated in the heart of Singapore’s civic, cultural, and business district. The central component of the project is the Kwa Geok Choo Law Library — a circular volume designed as a distinctive landmark with a strong civic presence.
Passage Projects led the structural design of the dome that crowns the library, enclosing a quiet, light-filled reading space with views toward Fort Canning Park. The dome’s geometry was optimised for structural efficiency and ease of construction, using a limited set of repeated components to simplify fabrication and enhance clarity.
The result is a rational and refined structure — an invisible framework for focused thought in the service of public life.
